Iyuno CEO Shaun Gregory Steps Down; Executive Chairman, David Lee, Takes Over As CEO

Iyuno’s Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Gregory, has decided that the time is now right to move on.

He resigned from Iyuno at the end of February 2021 and has handed over the reins to our Executive Chairman, David Lee.

We would like to thank Shaun for his time as CEO, his dedicated service involved many significant accomplishments. Shaun has been instrumental in growing the legacy BTI Studios business, transforming the operation and completing the ‘game-changing’ merger with Iyuno Media Group. It’s been almost three years, but during that time he has built a world class team, created solid foundations and facilitated the technological changes that will help solidify the company’s position at the forefront of media localisation. Shaun has worked closely with David Lee to help deliver the SDI acquisition, one that will catapult Iyuno Media Group into offering the largest international footprint in Global Media Localization.

We are entering a new chapter in the company’s history, and it’s natural that Shaun sees this as a good junction for his own personal decision. Shaun will be greatly missed by the Board members, CXO colleagues and employees alike. We have enjoyed working with Shaun, and would like to thank him for his incredible commitment, but also for steering the company through COVID, a very difficult year for most companies. Shaun focused on the right things, and kept Iyuno in great health. We all owe him a great deal, and we respect his decision to move on. During the transition, both Shaun and David worked together on an orderly handover to ensure that both Iyuno and SDI are in fantastic shape as the deal closes and both teams begin the integration work.

Klas Johansson from Altor remarked, "Shaun has been absolutely instrumental in creating the world’s leading media localization company. Shaun’s ability to lead Iyuno during an intense period including merging BTI Studios and IYUNO Media Group, keeping employees safe while making the best possible for our clients during a global pandemic, as well as facilitating the transformational acquisition of SDI has been truly impressive. We are grateful and humbled by the commitment and effort Shaun has put into completing this critical phase of the group’s development, paving the way for a very promising future for the new group."

Lastly, Shaun noted the following, "When I joined in 2018 we were the 5th biggest media localisation company in the world. With the backing of Altor and Shamrock, we created a very ambitious strategy to transform the sector, through a company worthy of becoming a new global market leader that would set new standards for others to follow. When we merged with Iyuno, I knew we were creating that very company. With David’s experience and the subsequent support of Softbank, we had the right ingredients to get to the next level. So, having achieved everything I set out to do, this is the opportune time for me to hand over the baton to David. I will now focus on my charitable interests (namely Childline, NSPCC and the Sheffield Children’s Hospital) before looking at what I want to do next.  I would like to thank David, the Board and everybody in the company for their incredible support whilst I have been Chief Executive."

If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
