Editor, Tagalog Subtitling

The Editor is responsible for editing (create and/or reformat), spot and simulate time codes accurately according to specified client guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Does time coding for production purposes;
  • Corrects mistakes in Tagalog grammar such as but not limited to spelling, sentence structure, and context;
  • Formats subtitles according to specified guidelines of the client;
  • Provides quality checking for all files as assigned;
  • Communicate with freelancers and other operational team members when needed;
  • Ensures timely delivery of the assigned file/s;
  • Observes compliance to defined company policies, procedures, guidelines and drives continuous improvement; and
  • Performs other function-related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's/College Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Education, Linguistics, Mass Communications, or its equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Preferably with 1 year experience in a related field; Experience in writing is a plus; Experience in captioning / subtitling is a plus
  • Fluent in English both in written and spoken
  • Highly analytical and meticulous
  • High attention to details
  • Able to work under pressure and minimal supervision
  • Amenable to work in shifting schedule

Key Performance Indicators

  • Financial: Increase work capacity (Number of hours per week/month)
  • Customer: Deliver quality work output or project/s • Ensure clients acceptance of work output (Turn-around time/Number of project redeliveries)
  • Process / Operational: Constant communication with the team members/Team Leader • Timely submission of productivity reports (Response time/No late submission of reports)
  • People: Contribution to the team’s goals and objectives • Participation in the company’s planned employee engagement activities (Number of achieved team’s target/s per month/Number of participated activities)

  • Consistently improve work capacity while delivering quality work output within the given timeframe
  • Adaptable with the constant changes in the workflows and client/s expectations
