Creative Lead, Dubbing

The PH Creative Lead is responsible for the creative process and operational execution of all Dubbing projects. The position requires a high degree of responsibility, leadership, decision-making ability and self-sufficiency as well as creating work that resonates with the zeitgeist. S/he is also responsible for collaboration between local dubbing directors, actors, writers, and sound engineers. As a Creative Lead, S/he spearheads the choice of directors and then collaborates on the selection of actors and writers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Review content – usually review the OV at least 3x
  • Understanding and helping the director choose casting selections for Creative Manager/Client.
  • Understand and evaluate the three main casting elements: Voiceprint match (voice age, voice texture, accent) • Acting/performance/delivery match • Energy level, pacing, dynamic emotions and volume control
  • Understand and creatively adapt local culture/local perspective into dub.
  • Be able to review the Creative Guide/Creative Letter and advise on how to treat things like: foreign dialogue, adaption notes, casting, vocals, etc.
  • Attend recording sessions to make sure the talent and director understand the character well – make sure the talent is delivering a good performance.
  • Be able to properly communicate and articulate creative decisions to dubbing studio/director and the client/Creative Manager.
  • The local creative lead needs to study all the creative information from show guideline or creative letters – needs to fully understand character descriptions (motives, emotions, personality, etc.)
  • Review dubbed VQC: Check for any missing dialogue • Make sure lip-sync matches. • Make sure the dialogue is clear (Audio level) • Check for dialogue edit error. • Checking the character performances for energy, emotion and delivery issues.
  • Leads and manages the production team including setting and implementing project goals and strategies;
  • Provides direction and oversight while implementing creative processes that aligns with the client’s strategy;
  • Understands guidelines associated with clients and controlling quality so as to produce quality assets that adhere to client specifications
  • Participates in the onboarding of new talent resources, training and providing feedback
  • Uses existing contacts within the media industry to help build up a network of talent pools

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Film, Advertising, or any related field
  • Work Experience: Must have at least 7-10 years of work experience in a related field or industry
  • Fluent in English both in written and spoken
  • Must have experience in dubbing industry
  • High attention to details
  • Able to work under pressure and minimal supervision
  • Outstanding communication and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, exercising diplomacy and sound judgment
  • Must have experience handling creative production and performance

  • Develop a technical know-how on the assigned team including creation of efficient workflow

  • Consistent monitoring of operational dashboards and validating correctness of the information to be used for future decision
